DRON-8 X-Ray general purpose diffractometer

DRON-8 is a new member in the well-known general purpose X-ray diffractometers family DRON, and first our multi-functional diffractometer with vertical Θ-Θ goniometer.
The instrument inherits all the best traditions and develops modern trends to make general purpose diffractometer that enable to solve a wide range of tasks for X-ray polycrystalline diffractometry and several tasks for single crystalline diffractometry. The sample's horizontal position extends the range of the objects to be analyzed, enabling the measurements for liquids (melts and solutions) and also heavy large-size and irregular-form samples.
The instrument's potential users are technical academies, industrial and research laboratories, involved in a wide extent of material science. These are: the analysis of phase and mineral composition of crystalline objects, including temperature change conditions, in vacuum or in the atmosphere with various gases; the defining of single crystalline orientation; the analysis of textured and stressed conditions for polycrystalline objects; also, solving more sophisticated tasks to define different structural features of polycrystalline materials, including atomic structure analysis, demanding precision X-ray diffraction data.
The DRON-8 is more feature-rich and has higher automation degree as compared with the DRON-7 model being issued these days.
In particular, the goniometer has a changeable radius (180-250 mm), angle position reproducibility not more than 0.000125 deg.(optional), there is an opportunity of continuous and discrete angular scanning; X-ray generator and collimating slits are controlled from PC. There is the number of options that are possible for DRON-7. It is extended by the availability of jumbo samples holder with "xy"-scanning, automatic adjustment of vertical movement, and possibility to turn around the vertical axis, that enabling to analyze jumbo objects of different shapes (plates, single crystals, and other odd-shaped samples), both for the analysis of their phase composition and structural state, and for their surface orientation accurate definition in relation to the crystallographic axes.
Production of DRON-8 diffractometers started in year 2010.
