The BRA-18 analyzer is designated to determine chemical elements ranging from Na to U in solid, powder and liquid samples.
The basis for the analyzer operation is the excitation of the atoms in the sample of the substance being analyzed by radiation coming from an X-ray tube, that excites the flurescent of atoms for the elements in the sample. Flurescent radiation from the sample gets into the semiconductor detector where quanta having different energies are transformed into electric pulses, which amplitude is proportional to the energy of the absorbed quanta. BRA-18 analyzers use Si - pin detectors with Peltier temperature cooling effect.
By means of the analog-to- digital converter the sequence of electric pulses is transformed into the spectrum reflecting the energy spectrum of flurescent radiation from the sample. The analyzer control, spectrum processing and calculation of element concentrations are PC-aided. Software support provides the instrument calibration, quantitative analysis (also reference-free), and storage of the data obtained. Concentration is calculated in the sample elements, the analysis results are displayed as chemical symbols of the elements and their concentration values are carried out by analytical lines' intensity on the basis of pre-graduation or using the method of fundamental parameters. The software has a user-friendly interface providing simple and reliable operation.
